Guys i speaked with [GM]Ridiearl on metin2SG forum and he said there are players from greece, italy and USA that can play without proxy .
There is no IP block .

A confidentiality or non disclosure agreement (which is likely for an issue such as this) would prevent the team from confirming a country block.
I may not always agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend your right to say it.

I talk of a geographical block, one that prevents certain countries from connecting, while other countries can connect with no issue.

Whatever you would like to think, or whatever the team (contractually, breaking an NDA of confidentiality agreement would likely result in harsh punishment from YMIR, or possibly them losing their license) has to say, you cannot deny that gameforge/g4box served countries are (sans those who slip through the net) are unable to connect.

People in the UK cannot connect - Served by GameForge
People in Germany cannot connect - Served by GameForge
People in America cannot connect - Served by G4BOX
People in Canada cannot connect - Served by G4BOX
People in Italy cannot connect - Served by GameForge
People in Poland cannot connect - Served by GameForge
People in Spain cannot connect - Served by GameForge
And so on.

People in Denmark CAN connect without problems - no publisher operates a localized version of metin2 for this country
People in Norway CAN connect without problems - no publisher operates a localized version of metin2 for this country
People in Sweden CAN connect without problems - no publisher operates a localized version of metin2 for this country
And so on.

There are some in blocked countries who are able to connect, because geolocation, the method of determining the originating country from an IP address, is by no means a totally accurate technology. Some will not be "caught" as appearing to come from their own country and as such their packets will get through fine. Playing through a proxy that is not in a GameForge or G4BOX served country results in guess what - being able to play fine!  ;D

I guess it's all just a big coincidence, right? :)

And how bout player from the Latino ??
They can connect without a problem.
It is stated by Tiramisu that 80% can't log in and are u sure those 80% came from the region that u stated ??
I have a friend from same country but different state... and he can't log in.
FYI... i live in the neighboring country of Singapore. So.. IP block rules out. Its up to u to believe it or not... either its a coincidence or some undisclosed reason.

Then lucky you, as far as their geolocation is concerned, you are not in italy. Like my old ISP where it thought I was in amsterdam :D (though that would have still got be blocked =| )

You explained it yourself, he has a different ISP. Your connection goes from your house, to your DSLAM (if you're on DSL), to a network hub, then probably finally to your ISP's backbone. Your ISP in turn then gets their connection from a bigger provider, who in turn might lease out their connection from a main tier 1 provider. Geolocation's accuracy depends on how far down the "chain" it can see.

Your friend uses a different ISP and so the "chain" is completely different, and unlucky for him, they can tell that he is in Italy.

Hello everyone, it's my first post on this forum and hope not last. It's curious for me that Metin2 SG team don't want to tell us the truth about the ip block. What are they worried about ? That they won't have players and their money gone for free to YMIR ? I hope that everything will be clear when OB release, if it release without postpone.

PS: Rophe are you going back to M2 US or already playing there ? sorry for my english.
