No news about the recent in game exploit?
« on: September 03, 2010, 02:40:11 PM »
A little criticize to the staff of this forum

Recently there was a massive exploits on all metin2 servers. On SG forum we learned that the server was turned to test server for a bit more of 30 min, so all players had some GMs powers, and making items, rise level and much more was possible.

Luckily this exploit on sg lasted only 30 min and only 2 players seems to have abused of this glitch.

I dont know about gf condition but on g4box the exploit lasted 12 hours and i heard from many players that there are tons of +9 gears running in the shops of town. On z8 forum i only was able to find a post of franky wich dosnt explain what really happened, unlike from Chris post.

So well i though that in this forum i could find something more, after all i think is one of the biggest exploit ever, i can only imagine in 12 hours how many ssb +9 or poison +9 some ppls could have made.
This summer i am going to the S.E.A. :)

After the Metin2 US maintenance where players had this same bug like on SG, the server was taken back down again. I don't know where you are pulling "12 hours" from.

The server was then rolled back, and that was the end of that.

There is an item about it in the works-in-progress forum, but it is unfinished.

It doesn't sound like "one of the biggest exploits ever" to me. After issues before, they just rollback the server after problems with a maintenance. The same happened here. Why SG would try to continue on instead of rollback I don't know. I don't trust their explanation.

I would say the "biggest exploit ever" was that Metin2 SG got rooted, at least twice. Such a successful attack has never happened to US or a GF server.

Gameforge knew about the problem on US and SG, but it didn't happen to them. You would be surprised how active their [CM]s are *-*

The cm said no rollback was done, who should i believe u or him?

Dam i guess u considering franky lies a lot lol

Biggest exploit is one that is not fixed, sg got hacked but no char or items went out. The biggest exploit on g4box was the imv of 1 year ago, without considering this ofc

"The problem has now been fixed and all those who abused the game bug have and/or will be dealt with as expected for anyone who abuses such serious game bugs. Luckily no other actions were needed at this time and no rollback was done."

Read what ur master wrote doggy

I read that post he made a few days ago when he made it. I think/say it was rolled back because I had entered V2 and after, I was back outside again. This is also when the level 99 etc chars disappeared and they went back to their real levels.

The IMV patty saga was from credit card chargebacks and apparently stolen credit cards too. It isn't like rooting a server, gaining unauthorized access to the servers / databases.

Well as u always say...proofs? he said no rollback so even though we know he says bullshits we have to take his word as true, ur word is meaningless dont u think? unless u r still on z8 staff.

I still have to see if what some friends of mine told me its true, about the insane ammount of +9 items on shops. This would proof there wasnt any rollback and will also show how some ppls will get bilionaire by selling those exploited items.

IMV is still an exploit, that could be avoided if the team was carefully enough. Exploits arent related to hacking the DB only.

Well i could also had the 66 armors, ssb that were created and were also bugged (no bonus no stones could be added), but as i said i consider an exploit only if it cannot be fixed, while those bugged items were deleted.
This summer i am going to the S.E.A. :)

There was no roll back because the powers bug was available only for 20 minutes. GMs were online when it happened, then the server was shut down until they got to fix the problem.

The only guys who abused it were not very smart and posted screens on forums showing how they worked "hard" to be 99. They didn't have time to create any item, at least I haven't seen any person with +9 items they didn't have before. Their accounts were verified and I believe some of them are banned right now, dunno for how long though.

[that's what I know o.o]

Any good news source relies on it's readers to point out any news it may have missed.  May I suggest you (and everyone who reads Liquiron) use the Contact Form? They welcome any suggestions for improvement or news items.  :)
